WHAT IS ETERNAL LIFE?

-John 17:3 states, … And this is life eternal, that they might know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent …

-What better definition can we get concerning the meaning of eternal life! This definition comes straight from the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ. The word “eternal” ( which describes the kind of life mentioned here ) comes from the Greek word “aionios”, which means: age-lasting, age-abiding, or of the ages. It could be said that this life is the LIFE OF THE AGES.

-God’s plan is a plan of ages, in which the life of the ages is available to us. This is God’s life inserted into the ages of time. God has no beginning and no ending. This is the true definition of that which is eternal. He created time and framed the ages to make man in His image. The ages have a beginning and an ending. To have God’s life in His plan of the ages is to have the life of the ages. This life has nothing to do with time, but is God’s life received and inserted into the ages of time. Remember … The word “eternal” speaks of something that has no beginning and no ending. Eternal life is a quality of life, not a quantity or length of time.

-When the last enemy ( which is death ) is destroyed, there will be nothing left but life. True eternity is timelessness. So … Remember that this life of the ages is the quality of the Christ-life.
