LOGOS AND RHEMA

According to Ray Knight:

-"These two Greek words ( "Logos" and "Rhema" ) are both translated “word” in English, but they have a different meaning which is important to recognize for this is a foundation for growth, wisdom, and understanding. "LOGOS" = The “word” which contains the full intent of the speaker. "RHEMA" = The “word” from the Logos that is presently being spoken to the hearer." ( Literal Word Or Spiritual, Ray Knight )

-There is a difference between a Logos and Rhema word from the Lord. The Logos is the written or spoken Word of God, which is personified in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. A Rhema word from God is the revealed ( unveiled ) Word of God to the heart and life of a person. In essence, a Rhema word from God is the unveiling of the Logos. It is the Logos being uncovered, manifested, quickened ( made alive ), and revealed to the heart and life of man.

-How many times have you read a passage of scripture from the Bible and it has meant absolutely nothing to you? Then, ALL OF A SUDDEN, it jumps off the page and tackles you. It becomes so plain to you what is being said. It becomes a revelation to you. This is to be seen as more than intellect at work. THIS IS A RHEMA EXPERIENCE IN GOD!

-We must learn to pray for, seek for, and cherish our Rhema experiences with the Father. Many people do not believe there is any such thing as God revealing to us what His Word ( Logos ) means. Sadly to say, for them THERE IS NO SUCH THING! They remain in intellect, theology, the carnal mind ( death ), man’s traditions, Bible colleges, and never see the true meaning of the scriptures. THEY ARE EVER LEARNING, BUT NEVER COMING TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH!

-May the Father deliver us from our futile, fleshly, and failing attempts to approach Him in raw intellect. It is absolutely necessary for us to have Rhema experiences in God!
