TRUE SUCCESS
-What is true success? Is it …
-MONEY?
-FAME?
-EDUCATION?
-MATERIAL POSSESSIONS?
-A LONG LIFE?
-TO BE HANDSOME OR BEAUTIFUL?
-HAPPINESS?
-A GREAT CAREER?
-The above mentioned list is the way in which the world defines true success. We are taught from the time we
are born that if we do not achieve these things that we are a failure. Are these things really true success? Do they really
make you the complete and total person that you long to be?
-True success is found in none of the things listed above. The things of this world are but dung compared to
the excellency of the KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST (Philippians 3:7-21). So … What is true success? Let us look to the words
of Jesus, for He clearly and simply defines it for us.
-Matthew 25:21 states, … His lord said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been
faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of the Lord … Did you catch the
key word in that passage? Jesus said, … you have been FAITHFUL over a few things … There it is! That is
the definition of true success. IT IS FAITHFULNESS!
-The word "faithful" means: trustworthy, trustful: believing, a believer, sure, and true. The word "faithful"
carries with it the idea of someone who believes, and continues to believe. It speaks of someone who trusts, and continues
to trust. As well, it speaks of diligence, and of a continued faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. True success is not just faith
in God, but faithfulness to God in all that He requires of us. It is a submission to God along with a total abandonment of
the self-life. It is to do the will of the Father in all things. We are to be faithful to where God places us, and to what
God asks us to do.
-Hebrews 11:6 states, … he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them
that diligently seek Him … THIS IS FAITHFULNESS TO GOD! This is …
