THE MINISTER OF GOD
-Mark 10:43-45 states, … whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be
the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give
His life a ransom for many …
-The word "minister" means: A SERVANT, TO SERVE. We have developed a modern day idea of a minister that goes something
like this … We must find the smartest person we can find, vote that person into position, pay that person a big salary,
and believe and hang on every word that he says. This person must also wear the finest clothes, drive the finest car, live
in the finest home, and be in luxury every moment of every day. This person must be the only one to teach and preach, while
all others must keep their mouths shut and listen. HAVE WE MISSED IT, OR WHAT? Remember … The word "minister" means
to BE A SERVANT.
-In essence, Jesus was telling us that the definition of greatness is SERVANTHOOD ( to serve others with a servant heart
and attitude ). According to Jesus, those who are servants are GREATEST in the Kingdom of God. Do you want to be great in
the Kingdom of God? BE A SERVANT! HAVE A SERVANT HEART! SEEK NOT TO BE SERVED, BUT TO SERVE! For even the Son of man came
not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. This is what it means to be a true …
