A FORM OF GODLINESS
-The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christianity. Most Christians acknowledge Jesus with their
lips, and then walk out the door and deny Him with their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.
-We must realize that the world can see right through all of our religious games. They know that the message of fear, hate,
and confusion ( which Evangelical Christianity preaches ) is nothing more than SOUNDING BRASS AND A TINKLING CYMBAL! In simple
terms, the church is making a lot of noise, and is a FORM OF GODLINESS WHICH DENIES THE POWER OF GOD!
-This means that most of Christianity is an external form of the Christian life with NO INNER POWER! Let us turn away from
this external facade of self-righteousness that STINKS to the high heavens! Our problem is not the:
-MUSLIMS
-MASONS
-HOMOSEXUALS
-CATHOLICS ( or any other religion, cult, or denomination )
-GOVERNMENT ( who is in office )
-MIDDLE EAST
-TEN COMMANDMENTS ( whether or not they are hanging on the walls in public places )
-RIGHT TO PRAY IN SCHOOLS OR PUBLIC PLACES
-Our problem is THAT WE ( the church ) ARE A FORM ( mere appearance ) OF GODLINESS WITH NO POWER! So … What is the
answer?
-2nd Timothy 1:7 states, … For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND
OF A SOUND MIND … We have forsaken the power of God for the spirit of fear. We must STOP preaching a “gospel of
fear”, and start preaching the GOOD NEWS! What good news? The good news that GOD WAS IN CHRIST RECONCILING THE WORLD
UNTO HIMSELF!
-As we line up with God’s truth, we will once again be a church of power, love, and of a sound mind. Then, and only
then, will the world be interested in this God that we are interested in. Instead of being just a form, …
-LET US BE TRANSFORMED!-
