1ST CORINTHIANS 13 / PART 5
-1ST Corinthians 13:9-13 states, … For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that
which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood
as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abides faith, hope, charity
( love ), these three; but the greatest of these is charity ( love ) …
-As we run the race of life, marching toward a deeper relationship with our Lord, we are accompanied by three
great friends. Their names are FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE. These three friends help us as we walk through the wilderness of
this Christian journey. They guide us through the seasons of this life, helping us to be able to see through a glass, darkly.
Sometimes it appears that these three friends have abandoned us, but they are always watching us. Many times they are closer
to us then we realize. They work behind the scenes, helping, strengthening, and encouraging us in ways that we do not realize
until later down the road. These three friends are bringing us from being able to see in part, to being able to see our Father
in all His fullness. They are bringing us to a grand, glorious, and climactic conclusion, in which we will see our Heavenly
Father as ALL IN ALL!
-There is coming a day when two of these friends will leave us. These two are FAITH and HOPE. They are not leaving
us to desert us, but rather, they are leaving simply because we will not need them any more. They will have finally brought
us to the desired end of the journey. This “end of the journey”, as we will call it, is to know our Father even
as we are known of our Father.
-Our third and greatest friend of all, Who is LOVE, WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US! He will never fail us! NEVER,
NEVER, NEVER! He goes by the name of love, but He is also known as the Lord Jesus Christ, for He is God, AND GOD IS
LOVE!
-If at the end of time there remains just one person who is estranged from the love of God, then that person
has defeated the love of God, and God’s love will have failed. BUT GOD WILL NOT FAIL! HE CAN NOT FAIL! HIS LOVE
GOES BEYOND THE HIGHEST STAR, AND REACHES TO THE LOWEST HELL!!! He has promised that He will draw (drag) all men unto
Himself. What a promise! What a God!
-HIS LOVE IS INESCAPABLE!
