THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL
-Ephesians 6:19,20 states, … And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth
boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as
I ought to speak …
According to Ray Prinzing:
-"Galatians 5:11, "If I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution?" One might preach creed, politics,
clothes-line holiness, etc. fighting this and that "ism", but there is no GOOD NEWS in any such preaching. Let those
who do not have any GOSPEL proclaim such things, and let those who are being initiated into the good news, faithfully
declare it." ( Whispers Of The Mysteries, Ray Prinzing )
-Within the meaning of the word "gospel" lies the understanding of the mystery of the gospel. The word "gospel"
literally means good news or glad tidings.
According to Dr. E. W. Bullinger:
-"The “good news” was first heralded by angels sent specially from heaven; and the exact terms of
the proclamation are recorded. The angel of Jehovah spoke from the glory of Jehovah, and said: - “Behold I bring you
good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a SAVIOR, which
is CHRIST, THE LORD.” Thus the good news concerned a Person, Who would “save His people from their sins”
( Matthew 1:21 ): the Savior Whom God had anointed ( Messiah ), appointed, given, and sent." ( Dr. E. W. Bullinger )
-We are now able to see and admit that the gospel is the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that
it results in GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY, WHICH SHALL BE TO ALL PEOPLE! Our failure to see that the effects of the gospel
shall be extended to ALL PEOPLE is what causes many not to understand the mystery of the gospel. 2nd Corinthians
5:18,19 states, … And all things are of God, Who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the
ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses
unto them, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation … WOW!
-THAT IS GOOD NEWS! THAT IS GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY, WHICH SHALL BE TO ALL PEOPLE! THAT IS THE GOSPEL!
Let us stop preaching our lists of dos and don’ts to people. THAT IS BAD NEWS! Let us tell the world that they are forgiven,
saved, and reconciled, having been bought with a price. When people hear the TRUE GOSPEL they will want to repent and
surrender their lives to the Lord of glory!
